Vintage Caiman and Gecko Natural History Illustration Poster
An antique hand-colored natural history plate showing a caiman and a wall gecko by d’Orbigny.
Description
This vintage natural history illustration by Charles Dessalines d'Orbigny pairs a young caiman ('Caïman à museau de Brochet') with a wall gecko ('Platydactyle des murailles') in fine hand-colored engraving. Originally published in a 19th-century French zoological atlas, it is a richly detailed reptile study for collectors of antique science art.
