Description
From the series Mirror of Great Generals of Japan, this 1879 woodblock by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi shows Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in a crimson robe gazing at the Golden Pavilion. Purple curtains billow from the gilded temple above still blue water. A fine example of Meiji-era historical printmaking for collectors of Japanese art.
