Tsuchiya Koitsu Winter Day at the Temple Asakusa Snow Poster
Koitsu’s ‘A Winter Day at the Temple, Asakusa’ frames a snow-covered Senso-ji through its great red lantern. A lone figure with an umbrella crosses the white courtyard.
Description
The print's own inscription reads 'A Winter Day at the Temple, Asakusa', signed by Tsuchiya Koitsu. Snow piles on pine boughs and temple roofs while the giant crimson lantern glows overhead. The falling snow against deep blue sky makes this a beloved seasonal shin-hanga. A serene winter scene for holidays and year-round calm.
