Torii Gate at Miyajima Arai Yoshimune Ukiyoe Shrine Woodblock Poster
The great torii gate of Miyajima rises from the water in Arai Yoshimune’s soft ukiyoe print. A small boat drifts beneath it toward misty hills.
Description
This vintage Japanese woodblock shows the famous Itsukushima torii standing in calm water, with a small boat of figures passing beneath. Pale misty tones and distant shrine rooftops complete the tranquil scene. A graceful tribute to one of Japan's most photographed landmarks.
