Shiro Kasamatsu Night Tea House Noh Masks Noren Japanese Poster
A darkened tea house glows with red accents, noh masks on its railing and noren curtains at its door. A richly atmospheric night scene.
Description
This vintage Japanese woodblock print by Shiro Kasamatsu shows a traditional tea house after dark, its white noren curtains, red table, and hanging noh masks picked out against deep shadow. The moody contrast and folk detail give the scene a theatrical, storybook quality. A distinctive piece for dining rooms and eclectic walls.
