Ohara Koson Carp Swimming Beneath Dark Irises Japanese Poster
Two carp glide through turquoise water beneath tall green leaves and deep purple iris blooms in this circa 1930s Japanese woodblock print. A serene pond scene with a bold color contrast.
Description
Ohara Koson's kacho-e composition pairs dark violet irises rising from green reeds with two carp swimming below in clear teal water. The golden-yellow ground behind the foliage makes the colors glow. A peaceful water-garden print for bathrooms, offices, and calm corners.
