Nigatsudo Temple Rain Masamoto Mori Lantern Pilgrim Woodblock Poster
Rain streaks across the veranda of Nigatsudo Temple in Masamoto Mori’s atmospheric print. Pilgrims in hats shelter beneath a great hanging lantern.
Description
Masamoto Mori captures a rainy day at Nara's Nigatsudo hall, water sheeting from the tiled eaves as pilgrims in rain capes rest on the wet stone terrace. A large paper lantern glows warmly against the grey sky. A deeply atmospheric Japanese temple scene.
