Description
This striking Western painting depicts a Mexican vaquero in a wide sombrero and striped serape, mounted on a chestnut horse against an endless pale desert. The composition is spare and monumental, with the rider's silhouette carrying the whole scene. Signed Frederic Remington, it is a standout for Western, ranch and masculine interiors.
