Mauritania Pastoral Well Water Carrier Vintage Stamp Art Poster
A vintage Mauritania stamp showing a herdsman drawing water at a pastoral well, with cattle waiting in the ochre landscape behind him.
Description
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania printed this 50-franc stamp honoring the pastoral well at the heart of Saharan herding life. The engraver's linework renders the turbaned carrier, the hide bucket, and the watching cattle with documentary warmth. A thoughtful piece of West African postal art.
