Maurice Verneuil Deer Forest Wallpaper Pattern Art Nouveau Poster 1897
Verneuil’s Plate 46 from L’animal dans la décoration: a stag-and-tree wallpaper of leaping deer and a squirrel border. French Art Nouveau nature design, 1897.
Description
The main design, 'Cerfs et arbres, papier peint,' fills the page with red, gold and ochre autumnal trees and graceful stags. An inset corner, 'Écureuil, oiseaux et sorbier, bordure,' adds a red squirrel, white birds and rowan berries. A rich, warm palette for nature-inspired interiors.
