Matisse Riverside Mountain Scenery, Abstract Landscape
A riverside mountain landscape rendered in the bold, simplified forms and vibrant color of Matisse-inspired abstract art.
Description
A mountain landscape beside a river is broken into bold, simplified shapes and bright color in the manner of Matisse. Flowers and natural forms soften the geometry, and the palette leans toward the warm and expressive rather than literal or photographic.
Living rooms and entryways suit this scale and energy, and it pairs well with other Matisse-style work or botanical prints hung as a group. The warm color reads easily against white or light neutral walls.
Admirers of Matisse and abstract landscape art are the natural audience, along with anyone building a wall around early modern masters. It works as a housewarming for someone furnishing a living room, or as a birthday present for a collector of Fauve-inspired design.
