Matisse Papiers Decoupes Berggruen 1953 Yellow Leaf Cut Out Poster
A Henri Matisse Papiers Découpés poster from the 1953 Berggruen & Cie show. A sunny yellow cut-out leaf floats on a soft blue-grey ground.
Description
Made for the Berggruen & Cie exhibition of Matisse’s papiers découpés, 70 Rue de l’Université, Paris, February 27 to March 28, 1953. The golden-yellow organic leaf is pure Matisse joy against a dusty blue frame. A cheerful midcentury icon for bright modern interiors.
