Matisse-Inspired Tiger On A Couch, Modern Art Print

A tiger settles onto a couch in this oil painting worked in the bold, flattened style of Matisse-inspired modern art. The subject is playful and unexpected, treating the animal as a domestic oddity rather than a wild thing, with expressive color and simplified forms carrying the whole composition.

Living rooms and dens suit it best, especially walls that already run to modern or eclectic taste. Hang it above a real sofa for the double-take effect, or on any wall with the room to support something that bold and a little strange.

Art collectors drawn to Matisse and modern painters are the audience, along with anyone who likes animal art that does not take itself seriously. It works as a present for a friend with adventurous walls or as a conversation starter in a room that already leans funky.
