Marsden Hartley Portrait of a German Officer Abstract Art Poster
Marsden Hartley’s Portrait of a German Officer explodes with flags, medals, numbers and bold color. A landmark of American modernist abstraction.
Description
Painted in 1914, Marsden Hartley's Portrait of a German Officer is one of the great works of early American abstraction. Military insignia, iron crosses, checkerboards and vivid red, black and blue shapes collide in a powerful Cubist-inspired composition. This reproduction preserves the painting's graphic energy and rich texture. An essential piece for modern art collectors and bold contemporary interiors.
