Lourdes France Pyrenees Pilgrimage Vintage Railway Travel Poster
The Chemins de Fer du Midi promotes Lourdes: pilgrims on a hillside above the town with the Pyrenees behind, and fare reductions of 20 to 40 percent.
Description
This Midi railway poster shows a group of pilgrims looking over Lourdes toward the Pyrenean peaks, with roses in the foreground and the town spread below. The text advertises reduced fares and the funicular to the Pic du Grand Ger. A richly detailed piece of French pilgrimage and railway history.
