Kiyoshi Ikezumi Peep Show Street Theater Japanese Woodblock Poster
A bold 1930 Japanese woodblock print of a colorful peep-show street theater, with a painted stage screen, curious onlookers, and a pagoda behind. Signed by Kiyoshi Ikezumi.
Description
Kiyoshi Ikezumi's lively print depicts a traditional Japanese street peep show, its curtained booth topped by a big painted sign and flanked by figures in period dress. Flat planes of purple, pink, and black give it a playful modernist punch. It is a conversation piece for eclectic and vintage-style walls.
