Kabuki Drama Soga Goro with Striped Umbrella Woodblock Poster
The kabuki hero Soga Goro stands defiant in patterned robes, swords at his waist, a bold striped umbrella overhead. Red kumadori makeup marks his fierce expression.
Description
Hasegawa Sadanobu III depicts Soga Goro from the classic Soga brothers drama, wearing dramatic red and black stage makeup. He grips a striped umbrella like a weapon, twin swords at his hip, on a quiet gray ground. A powerful piece for collectors of kabuki theater art and Japanese stage history.
