Kabuki Actor Soga Goro Dramatic Mie Pose Japanese Woodblock Poster
A kabuki warrior in red, green and black brocade freezes in a fierce mie pose, spear raised. This Soga Goro woodblock radiates stage drama.
Description
Hasegawa Sadanobu III shows Soga Goro in a crouching attack pose with kumadori makeup and an ornate spear. The richly patterned costume and the actor's intense glare capture kabuki at its most theatrical. A bold poster for theater lovers and Japanese art collectors.
