Hiroshige Red Demon Night Japanese Woodblock Art Bridge Scene Poster
A rare Hiroshige woodblock of a red demon crouching beneath a moonlit bridge. Dark, dramatic and full of Edo-period folklore.
Description
From a Hiroshige comic-picture series, this woodblock captures a red oni and a water kappa under the wooden beams of a bridge at night. Waves curl below while a distant town glows on the far shore. A bold, theatrical piece of Japanese folklore art unlike typical landscape prints.
