Himeji Castle White Heron Castle Kawase Hasui Japanese Art Poster
Himeji’s gleaming white keep soars above stone walls under a bright summer sky. Hasui’s 1940 ‘Hakurojo’ is Japan’s most elegant castle print.
Description
Kawase Hasui's 1940 'Hakurojo' portrays Himeji Castle, the famed White Heron Castle, its layered white roofs glowing against a blue cloud-dappled sky. Stone ramparts and green lawns anchor the UNESCO treasure in this crisp sunlit composition. The castle seems to take flight. A must-have for castle collectors and lovers of classic Japanese architecture.
