Half Dome Travel Poster, Yosemite National Park

Half Dome dominates this Yosemite scene in the flat color and graphic simplification of a mid-century travel poster. The style strips away fine detail to capture the landmark's iconic shape and the spirit of the park itself.

Stair walls and hallways are natural homes for posters like this, as are studies, mudrooms, and climbing gyms. It pairs well with other park and wilderness posters hung as a series, and the illustration style keeps it from feeling too documentary.

Climbers who have tackled the peak, Yosemite regulars, and California hikers are the primary audience. It works as a memento of a trip, or as the beginning of a travel-poster collection someone will keep building.
