Gustave Courbet River Rest With an Open Book Nearby 1856 Poster
Two women rest against a tree by the Seine, an open book at their feet. A literary Courbet 1856 riverside idyll.
Description
This poster presents Gustave Courbet's "Young Ladies on the Banks of the Seine" (1856): two women in elegant dresses recline against a tree in deep shade, one in teal and one in rust, with an open book lying on the ground beside them. The dappled light and still water complete the idyll. Perfect for readers and lovers of 19th-century French art.
