Great Temple Bell Bronze Bonsho Shiro Kasamatsu Woodblock Poster
A massive bronze temple bell looms over visitors in this moody Shiro Kasamatsu woodblock. Deep shadows and green light make it unforgettable.
Description
This striking woodblock frames an enormous bronze temple bell hanging in its dark wooden belfry. Below, three visitors in robes look up at the inscribed metal while green leaves glow behind them. Kasamatsu uses heavy ink and shadow to create a hushed, reverent mood. A bold and unusual print for collectors of Japanese art.
