Goshawk on Snowy Branch Ohara Koson Winter Bird Woodblock Poster
A sharp-eyed goshawk perches on a snow-covered branch, gray and white plumage crisp against the mist. Ohara Koson’s 1926 raptor study is masterful.
Description
Ohara Koson renders the goshawk in fine feather detail, its piercing gaze and barred tail set against soft winter gray. The kacho-e tradition of bird and flower prints shines in this restrained composition. A distinguished poster for bird lovers and Japanese art collectors.
