Chinese Zodiac Tiger Yellow Folk Art Chongqing Matchbox Poster
A cheerful Chinese zodiac tiger in yellow and red on a crimson ground, with the tiger character and ‘重庆纸蜡梗火柴’ text. A lucky folk-art matchbox label.
Description
This vintage Chinese matchbox label shows a playful folk-art tiger — the zodiac animal marked with the character for tiger — on a bold red ground, issued by the Chongqing paper-wax match factory. The twelve-animals stamp in the corner marks it as part of the zodiac series. A joyful design for tiger lovers and Asian art collectors.
