Carolina Parrot Audubon Vintage Bird Illustration Extinct Parakeet Art
An Audubon-style plate of the Carolina Parrot — vivid green and yellow parakeets clustered on bare branches.
Description
This classic ornithological illustration depicts the Carolina Parrot (Psittacus Carolinensis) — males, females and young — in green and golden-yellow plumage perched among cockle-bur branches. A poignant portrait of the now-extinct American parakeet, rendered with the drama of the great 19th-century naturalists. A treasure for bird lovers and natural-history collectors — beautiful in a study, library or sunroom.
