Bernard Buffet Notre Dame Paris 1963 French Railway Travel Poster
Bernard Buffet’s 1963 Notre-Dame for the French railways. Stark black lines, unmistakable Paris.
Description
Commissioned by the Chemins de Fer Français, this 1963 Paris poster shows Notre-Dame in Bernard Buffet's famously gaunt, expressive line. Bare branches cut across the cathedral and bridge in moody ink tones. A modernist landmark of French railway poster art.
