Alexej von Jawlensky Abstract Head Pastel Geometric Portrait Poster
Alexej von Jawlensky’s geometric ‘Abstract Head’ in soft pastel planes, signed ‘A.J.’.
Description
The artwork is signed 'A.J.' at lower left. A serene face emerges from large overlapping planes of lavender, sage, cream, and charcoal in Jawlensky's celebrated abstract-head style. Meditative and refined, it is a jewel of early German modernism for minimalist and gallery-style walls.
