A Burial at Ornans Coffin Facing the Town 1850 Courbet Poster
Women mourners around a coffin with the town rising behind, as a Courbet exhibition poster.
Description
This version of A Burial at Ornans places the coffin among women mourners in black with a hazy town climbing the hill behind them. The black poster border is printed with COURBET, 1850 and ORNANS FRANCE. Landscape and ceremony combine in this atmospheric French realist-style print.
