Ernst Haeckel Basimycetes Mushroom Black Background Science Poster
Ernst Haeckel’s Basimycetes plate: luminous mushrooms on dramatic black.
Description
From Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (Plate 63, Dictyophora), this monochrome plate shows stinkhorn and veiled mushrooms glowing against a black ground. The lacy, architectural forms make it one of Haeckel's most striking compositions. A bold, gothic-tinged piece of vintage science art.
