Seahorse and Flying Fish 1892 Antique Natural History Marine Poster
An 1892 hand-colored natural history plate of fishes: a spotted seahorse, Hippocampus punctulatus, and a flying fish, Exocetus volans, wings spread.
Description
French captions read 'Hippocampe ponctué' and 'Exocet volant'; the jeweled seahorse curls its tail above the great blue-winged flying fish. A vivid marine study for ocean and seaside decor.
