A sparrow hawk guarding its nest hollow with chick and egg — a charming 1882 natural history plate.
Description
This vintage bird poster reproduces an 1882 natural history plate of a sparrow hawk perched beside a tree hollow, where a fluffy chick peeks out and a speckled egg rests below. Delicate hand-colored detail and maple leaves complete the antique scientific-illustration look. A delightful find for birders, nature-study collectors and vintage nursery or study walls.
