Portuguese Colonial Soldier Fosforeira Portuguesa Matchbox Poster
A colonial soldier in a pith helmet stars in this vintage Portuguese safety match label.
Description
This vintage Portuguese matchbox label reads Fosforeira Portuguesa and Coloniaes, showing a colonial-era soldier in a white pith helmet. The crest of the Fabrica de Espinho and bold red and blue typography mark it as early twentieth-century advertising. An evocative piece of Portuguese colonial-era graphic art.
