Hiroshige Emperor Koko Horseback Snow Hyakunin Isshu Ukiyo E Art Print
Emperor Koko rides a rearing black horse through falling snow in this vivid Hiroshige woodblock print from the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu series.
Description
From Utagawa Hiroshige's Ogura nazorae hyakunin isshu series, this dramatic print portrays Emperor Koko galloping on a black horse through a swirl of snowflakes, his turquoise and coral court robes billowing in motion. A poem cartouche in calligraphy crowns the composition. The contrast of rich color against the dark winter ground makes it a dynamic focal point for a study, living room, or gallery wall, and a treasured gift for ukiyo-e collectors.
